Mathilde Alazraki was awarded the annual MPhil prize of the Shakespeare Society of France at the society’s annual congress in early January 2020

The prize rewards her MPhil thesis on “The Influence of Powerful Eastern Women on England’s Relationship with the East during the Early Modern Period”, supervised by Ladan Niayesh.

Mathilde is currently continuing her research at PhD level at LARCA, on a project entitled “Women and diplomacy between England and the East at the start of the modern era (1558-1673)”.

Congratulations to Mathilde, whose MPhil thesis will soon be published on the website of the Société Française Shakespeare.
